Joelle Hanton
Born and raised in Tacoma Washington, and now residing in Seattle, I create watercolor, acrylic and pencil art for the beauty-seeking daydreamer.
I have developed a unique style of creative expression that reflects the inspirational beauty of the world around me in a distinctly feminine and sophisticated way.
From an early age, I was captivated by the enchanting world of art, dreaming of illustrating books and bringing stories to life. That love for visual storytelling has stayed with me, shaping my creative journey and inspiring me to create work that sparks imagination and emotion. I’m drawn to the way a single image can transport someone to another world, evoke a sense of wonder, or add depth to a narrative.
My work blends traditional and digital techniques, incorporating watercolor, gouache, and acrylic with modern tools like Procreate, Photoshop, and Illustrator. This fusion allows me to explore texture, color, and composition in ways that feel both timeless and contemporary. Inspired by nature, literature, and everyday moments of beauty, my illustrations often reflect a delicate balance of whimsy and sophistication, creating a sense of warmth and nostalgia.
I aspire to illustrate more books alongside my other artistic work, including editorial illustration and art licensing. My goal is to craft imagery that invites people to slow down, appreciate the small details, and immerse themselves in a world of imagination.
With an eye for beauty and attention to detail, I add magic to what I create.
In addition to Artist, I’m a Digital Marketing Specialist with a Masters in Strategic Communication. I got my MA because I wanted to learn more about how to market in an online and e-commerce world. Of course I use my skills to help my art business but I also help other brands develop online and reach a wider audience.
